UT-Austin professor to give photography lecture Thursday at The Grace

Abilene, TX (October 31, 2007) - A University of Texas-Austin professor is making the trek to Abilene Thursday to present a special lecture in conjunction with The Grace Museum's current Library of Congress exhibit.

Robert Abzug, Oliver H. Radkey Regents Professorship in History, and Director, Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies at UT-Austin, is the second lecturer in The Grace's three-part Art Talk and Coffee series.

Hendrickson's talk, titled "The Dawn of the Kodachrome Age," will focus on the development of the Kodachrome process in 1936, and the ways color film changed photography and the public's appetite for color imagery forever.

The lecture begins at 6:30 p.m.

The final lecture is scheduled for November 15 and will feature David Dike, owner of David Dike Fine Arts in Dallas.

The Grace Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every Thursday. Admission is free Thursday evening after 5 p.m.
