Grand re-opening of Children's Museum delayed to Spring 2007

Abilene , TX ( October 31, 2006 ) - The grand re-opening of The Grace Museum's Children's Museum has been delayed until Spring 2007.

Unforeseen construction delays have forced the originally scheduled date to be pushed back, said Dan Carpenter, Marketing/PR Director for The Grace.

"We are disappointed to know we'll miss our original target date for re-opening the popular Children's Museum, but are still excited about all the changes," said Carpenter. "With 12 new exhibits, and a facelift for Recollections and A is for Animal-A is for Art, our Children's Museum will continue be an amazing center for discovery-based learning experiences, as well as provide a new generation of families with memories to treasure."

Interested individuals can keep up with the progress of the Children's Museum Renovation project at The Grace's web site - www.thegracemuseum.org.

The renovation of the Children's Museum has been made possible by a generous gift from the Dian Graves Owen Foundation, with subsequent gifts from the Terrell Tone Owen Memorial Fund, Abilene Regional Medical Center, Hendrick Health System, Dr. Eric and Sue Schackmuth, Dr. Sandip and Mishi Mathur, Taylor-Jones-Haskell County Medical Alliance, and Cardiology Consultants.

The Grace Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every Thursday. Admission is free Thursday evening after 5 p.m.
