Grace to host first-ever Dreamnight at the Museum Saturday

Abilene, TX (October 11, 2007) - Special invitations have been sent, RSVPs are coming in, and final preparations are being made for The Grace Museum's first-ever Dreamnight at the Museum Saturday.

Chronically ill and disabled children and their immediate families have been invited to board the Dreamnight Express and receive special, private access to The Grace beginning at 5 p.m.

While the Dreamnight concept - a special nationwide event for handicapped children and their families - began in the Netherlands in 1996, Dreamnight at The Grace will be the first event of its kind hosted at a museum in the United States.

"We are thrilled to open The Grace to these special children and their families," said Dennis Kois, executive director for The Grace. "We have a great facility filled with wonderful, discovery-based learning experiences, and we're certain that the first-ever Dreamnight at The Grace will be one to remember."

The evening will feature free admission to all Grace exhibits, art activities in the Education Center, dogs to pet from the Abilene Police Department's K-9 unit and Hendrick Rehabilitation Center's PETS pet therapy program, plus free food and giveaways.

The Grace Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every Thursday. Admission is free Thursday evening after 5 p.m.

For more information, call 325-673-4587.
