Grace employee accepts position with Baseball Hall of Fame

Abilene, TX (April 26, 2006)  The Grace Museum is bidding farewell May 10 to one of its employees who leaves to accept a position with the Baseball Hall of Fame.

James Yasko, The Grace's Interactive Media Coordinator/Curatorial Assistant, will be the Manager of Visitor Education for the Cooperstown , N.Y. museum.

"It will be hard to leave Abilene . I went to ACU and then worked at The Grace for more than three years. I've lived here longer than I've lived anywhere else," said Yasko. "West Texas is home. However, it is a new opportunity and there are new challenges to face. And as a lifelong baseball fan, it's a dream come true to be able to work at the Baseball Hall of Fame."

During his tenure, Yasko has been responsible for working closely with the Museum staff to install and maintain more than 100 exhibits. Since June 2005, he has been the driving force behind MuseCasting, which brought The Grace into the podcast era, coordinating, recording and posting more than 25 interviews. His latest project, “Works on Paper: A Creative Writing LitCast,” is a collaboration between The Grace and ACU, and has been well received, with an average of more than 25 downloads per day.

"I'll always hold Abilene and The Grace's staff near my heart," added Yasko, "but I'm excited about, quite literally, a change of scenery."
