Title
I Arts Outreach Program
The
Grace Museum provides
art outreach to elementary students in the Abilene
Independent School District.
Fifth
graders in 14 AISD elementary schools are
visited each month by The Grace's art outreach educator.
The art lessons presented are filled with hands-on instruction
and art history, as students learn the elements
and principles of art and experiment with a variety
of media. Third- and fourth graders at nine Title I schools
receive two art lessons each semester, taught
by the museum's volunteer outreach docents.
With the help of art teachers in AISD
and The Grace's own art educators, every fifth grade student
in AISD receives hands-on art lessons during each school year.
