TEXAS HERITAGE PRINT SET

Audience: Teachers, librarians and children in the Abilene and Wylie Independent School Districts, all private schools in Abilene, and education groups and orginizations throughout Region XIV.

Purpose: Study prints featuring five different works of art from The Grace Museum's permanent art collection. This collection designed to make interdisciplinary connections in the fields of art, social studies, mathematics, language arts, and science.  Each print includes art production activities for elementary and secondary schools while each set of study prints will include a teacher's guide that explains how the artwork can be incorporated in Texas history, language arts, math, science, and social studies lessons.

Funding: The Grace Museum Marcus Project is a visual arts initiative generously sponsored by a grant from the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation of Dallas.  Support from the Community Foundation of Abilene helps to provide the study prints free of charge to each public and private school library in Abilene for teachers to check-out as a resource material.  Four sets will be provided to Abilene Public Library for checkout by the general public.  Region 14 school libraries may purchase sets at cost of reproduction (an estimated $25 per set).
