My pursuit as an artist is simple. I wish to only represent the world that is around me. I often find inspiration for paintings in my own backyard, in a family member’s gaze, or the neighborhood I live in. An important factor in my painting process is working directly from life. Choosing to work this way allows for an intimate experience with my subject matter that can be obtained no other way. The majority of my work is landscape oil paintings done on location. The time invested in each location provides a deep connection, understanding, and experience that I hope to communicate in each of my paintings.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
